Well I can’t believe that it’s almost August..the year seems to be flying by. I don’t know about you but I often think that August can seem like a ‘treading water’ month with either ourselves, our staff or our customers on holiday.
Consequently, business appointments and buying decisions can be so frustratingly difficult to get this month. |
However this relatively quieter period does give us the chance to reflect on our business and re-focus on what still needs to be achieved in the months ahead.
If you have time over the next few weeks why not give some thought around the following areas:
1. Where is my business right now?
Am I ahead of the game and able to capitalise on more opportunities?
Or, am I behind budget and needing to quickly land additional business?
What do I need to do to make this happen?
2. What additional resources will I need between now and December?
Who will need to sign these off? What other help will I need to make sure I deliver?
3. Am I continuing to develop my existing business relationships?
What is the biggest problem facing my customer right now?
How can I help them overcome that problem in the next few months?
4. Am I continuing to develop and coach my team?
Do I know how they are feeling right now and what help they need?
How can I encourage them to achieve their remaining goals?
5. Am I looking after myself?
Am I feeling healthy and ready for the next challenge coming my way?
What can I do to develop my own skills and knowledge further over the coming months?
I’m sure you can add your own questions to this list. I pose them just as a starting point and I hope that it will encourage you to pause, reflect and re-focus your efforts during the August ‘window’. Good luck.
